Anpetu Waste Miye Kolapi (Good Day my friends),
My name is Jon Jordan. As a professional teacher with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education I received at Western Illinois University in 1994, I have been educating children and adults across the state of Illinois for many years. This style of education began in childhood as a member of the Boy Scouts in which I received the rank of Eagle Scout. While studying native culture as a youth, I learned that I am of mixed blooded heritage. I combined that knowledge and my ability to teach children and created Spirit of the Eagle Presentations. When I am not presenting to various schools, libraries and scouting organizations I continue to teach as a substitute teacher in Plainfield, IL.
I have been educating others in Native American culture for the past fifteen years with Spirit of the Eagle Presentations. All of my thought provoking and highly educational presentations are adaptable for any age of student. Over the years I have had the privilege of working with students ranging from Pre-K all the way up to adults.
I have several wonderful programs available. Life on the Plains offers a glimpse at traditional Lakota culture. Native American Artifacts demonstrates the many different ways buffalo were used by the Plains People. While Native American Storytelling teaches lessons in the oral tradition of the First People.
I look forward to sharing my love of Native American culture with you. Hope you enjoy my site.

Thank you,
I'm glad you came.

Living history presentations aid teachers by bringing history alive for their students! Students are able to interact with someone from the "past" creating a memorable experience that is not soon to be forgotten.
Students learn in many different styles. Living history programs stimulate the senses of students thus assisting their comprehension of Native American culture. This approach to teaching history makes the history books come alive for young and old alike. It is superior to traditional museum tours by allowing students to experience items rather than viewing them through glass cases. This interactive style of education engages students and aids in the learning process.
It is my opinion that this experience is memorable for all. It is just plain fun! Children of all ages have informed me over the years of the many things that they have learned. In my travels, I have even had past students who have not only remembered the experience itself, but also much of the information from it too!
