this highly informative presentation.  Life on the Plains delivers a rare opportunity for
students to experience a 20 foot Tipi constructed on your school grounds.   Travel back
in time to learn about the buffalo and its role in Native life.  Important values such as
respect, tradition and generosity are demonstrated.
Hand crafted items  are used in

Give your students an opportunity they are not soon to forget!

The Lakota or Western Sioux were nomadic tribesmen who used every portion of the
buffalo in an effort to survive.  The animal's life is highly respected and regarded.
See many
different ways the buffalo are fashioned into clothing, tools, toys and much
more.  Try your hand at scraping a piece of deer skin, handle buffalo bone tools and
feel the warmth of real buffalo skins.  Explore the differences in roles of men and
women in ages past.  Learn games that children used to teach them essential life
skills. A great addition to
Scouting dinners, multicultural fairs, and library reading
programs.   Presentations range from 45 minutes to one hour with multiple sessions
throughout a day available.
Curriculum information is available for teachers.

Bring the museum to your school today!

Stories are echoes from the past.  Hear tales that make animals and history come alive!
Generations past learned about their world by the stories that were told to them.
Discover the reasons why bears have short tails or why porcupines can't throw their
quills.  This program contains a mixture of Native American tales from many tribes
that are engaging and enjoyable as well as educational.  Native Myths provide excellent
lessons for living.  Stories contain many levels of interpretation which makes it an
excellent choice  for all ages of students, both young and old.

Now Available!  Life on the Plains INDOORS!
2006 brings in change to Spirit of the Eagle Presentations.    In the past many have
inquired about the possibility of bringing the tipi indoors, now it is possible!  I have
recently acquired a 16 foot tipi (with 20 foot poles) that should fit inside most schools
gymnasiums! Students will be given a unique "view through" experience while they
explore tipi living.  While sitting outside of the tipi children learn about the
construction of the home and physical attributes, then it is opened up to expose the
inside and all that is involved. Once exposed they will  learn about tipi etiquette, and
even education of children in this highly informative presentation.   Students will also
learn about the buffalo and its role in Native life.  Important values such as respect,
tradition and generosity are demonstrated.
Hand crafted items  are used in the
program constructed as in the past.  Many items are even distributed for individual
viewing!  Life on the Plains often is chosen as a full day event, but other options are
available.
